Culture and nature for children and adults at the Garberhof family hotel.
Customs, tradition – and red geraniums.
Many customs and traditions are celebrated in the Antholz Valley throughout the year. The Festival of the Sacred Heart, traditional blessings of herbs and carol singing are accompanied by folk costumes, brass band music and hearty dishes such as South Tyrolean speck dumplings, Tirtlan (savoury fritters) and Strauben (sweet fritters).
Rustic farmhouses adorn the landscape on the slopes below the dark conifer forests. The balconies of these farms and residences are often decorated with red geraniums.
The Antholz Valley is home to some magnificent and breathtaking places and it is worth taking a look around. Whether by bike or on foot, everything can be easily and quickly reached. Mystical ruins, fascinating sights and the Dolomites are all surrounded by South Tyrol’s unique natural world, for a holiday like nowhere else.
And looking further afield is also worthwhile: the Three Peaks of Lavaredo, the Pragser Wildsee, the Messner Mountain Museum, the Toblach zoo, the Prettau mine, the Kneipp park in Niederdorf, the Rheiner waterfalls and so much more… we have plenty of tips – just ask!
The Garberhof family hotel in the Antholz Valley is definitely worth a visit – and the red geraniums will show you the way.
